Three Act Structure
The first act usually consists of presenting the main characters, revealing their relationships between one another and showing where the scene is set. During this act the protagonist, the main character, will be faced with an incident that will change the character's life (the turning point) making him realise that he/she will have to solve some sort of problem to achieve equilibrium.
In the second act the protagonist will attempt to solve the problem on their own and usually end up making the situation even worst. This is when the protagonist realises he/she will need some help to overcome the obstacles and solve the problem. This is where the other main characters presented at the beginning start to come in and make an impact on the story for better or worst.
The third and final act is where the protagonist is fully prepared to encounter the problem. Here is when the story reaches its most dramatic and intense moment otherwise known as the climax. After this has been acclompished the main characters leave with a new sense of who they really are.
The Final Synopsis:
Lily is a young 15 year old girl who is forced into foster care, after her parents had passed away in a car crash. As her 16th birthday approaches, the cruel reality sets in. The constant abuse and lack of effection shown from her foster parents, Christine and Kane, forces her to leave home where she is trapped in a life of homelessness. Whilst on the streets, Lily befriends a young girl named Annabelle who has also left home after suffering from domestic abuse, however Annabelle mysteriously does not turn up one day when she arranged to meet Lily. Feeling helpless and like a waste of space, Lily does not want to be on this world anymore, believing anything must be better then the place she is currently in. However, one day a handsome, heroic young man comes over to Lily, and asks her if she wants him to take her away from the cruel streets. Lily agrees, and feels thankful, hoping that this will bring an end to the devastating life she has had. As the man takes Lily home, she begins to question why this man has chosen to help her, and wonders what his intentions are. Is he a twisted man who preys on young homeless girls? Lilys paranoia takes over her, so whilst the man is out she finds his phone, scrolling through it to try and find something suspicious; but finds nothing. Lily's mind is finally at rest as the man returns home with food and new clothes he has bought for Lily. However, as she goes upstairs into the spare room to try them on, she see's a familiar red scalf and hat in the bag of clothes. She then has a flashback, realising that the clothes are Annabelle's, her friend who went missing a few days ago. Lily begins to panic, and hesitantly walks downstairs, where the man had prepared dinner for them both. Lily sits down, in complete silence. (the camera moves backwards out of the room, the man shutting the door).
Enigma Code
The enigma code is a technique used to constantly keep the audience intrested in a film and continue to carry on watching it. This is usually keep a sense of mystery throughout the film so the audience can't predict whats going to happen next so when they find out its a surprise and therefore entertain them.
